This year's event will be held downtown on Saturday October 11, 2008 and feature award winning Singer/Songwriters Jacky Jack White, Wood Newton, Jeremy Stone, Jim McBride and Kacey Jones with special appearances by Dottie West's granddaughter, Tess Frizzell and Warren County’s own, Naomi Morrison. Gates will open at 12 noon. Tickets are $5.00.

Jacky Jack White is the host for the nationally syndicated Sucarnochee Revue. He has written hit songs for Neal McCoy, Charley Pride, Ray Stevens and Steve Wariner. Jack records on the Folk label, Silverwolf. He lived in McMinnville in the 1980's and counts McMinnville, Tn. as one of his favorite places. For more information on Jacky Jack White click here.

Jeremy Stone is a multi-talented singer-songwriter, with a penchant for sad songs about good old boys and good old girls coping with life's ups and downs. His debut album "Jeremy Stone: Tall Tales From Big Pond" is aptly titled. From the rollicking "Being Bad" to the introspective "A Good Man", Jeremy's singing and songwriting skills attest to his versatility as both a wordsmith and a tunesmith. Jeremy's recent performance at the famed Bluebird Café in Nashville, TN was met with warm applause and very positive feedback from those who attended. Jeremy continues to hone his singing, songwriting and guitar skills, even as he juggles the demands of providing for his growing family, which includes a new baby boy.

 

Jim McBride Jim McBride has had his songs recorded by superstars Alabama, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Brenda Lee, Charley Pride, Anne Murray, Reba McEntire, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Paycheck, Crystal Gayle, Mickey Gilley, Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, John Anderson, Patty Loveless, and many others.

In 1994 "Chattahoochee" (co-written with Alan Jackson) won the Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year. In 1995 the Alabama Music Hall of Fame awarded him with it's Music Creator Award. Singer-songwriter, Kacey Jones, is a former MCA recording artist and Curb artist. She currently records for IGO Records, a nationally distributed indie label in Nashville. Her original songs have been recorded by Mickey Gilley, "I'm the One Mama Warned You About," David Allan Coe, "Cold Turkey," and Ethel and The Shameless Hussies "I Thought he was Mr. Right, but he Left." Her publishing company, Mamalama Music, received an ASCAP Award for John Michael Montgomery's "Home to You" and a platinum album award for "He Thinks He's Ray Stevens." As record producer, she produced the # 1 album, "Pearls in the Snow" featuring Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Dwight Yoakam, Guy Clark, and Marty Stuart, among others. She's a favorite guest of Garrison Keillor and the "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show and she's the "Official Songstress" of the Sweet Potato Queens. Naomi Morrison began performing around eleven years ago in church. Eight years ago, she entered her first vocal competition at the Smithville Fiddlers' Jamboree with her father and two brothers. Since then, Naomi has been honing her singing and songwriting skills and performing at a variety of venues.

In 2001, Naomi played Patsy Cline in the hit musical comedy, "Always Patsy Cline". A year later, she moved to Sevierville, TN to continue her career. In 2003, Naomi auditioned for an opportunity to perform at one of Tennessee's favorite attractions-Dollywood. She got the job and was hired to perform with a Bluegrass band Dollywood dubbed “Naomi and the Wood Brothers”.

Naomi recently married the band’s banjo player, Tucker McCandless. They live in Sevierville and are enjoying their fifth year at Dollywood. Naomi has long been a big Dottie West fan. She wowed the crowd at the 2007 Dottie West Music Fest, and is eager to perform again this year. She’s also looking forward to seeing "all the folks back home!"

 

Born in Nashville, TN, Tess Frizzell is the daughter of award-winning Country artist Shelly West and Country Gospel artist and producer Allen Frizzell. Country music legends are part of her lineage. Her mom is the daughter of Country superstar singer and songwriter Dottie West. Her dad is the younger brother of David and the legendary singer and songwriter Lefty Frizzell.

Tess grew up in the midst of music. She even learned to walk on a tour bus! From doing demos in her dad’s studio to touring with her uncle David and singing her mom’s part on the David Frizzell and Shelly West duo’s many hits, Tess has sharply honed her performing skills on the way to becoming a rising Country music star in her own right.

 

This year we'll being having a Karaoke contest, as well as a singer/songwriter contest with a $200 prize for 1st place.

Vendor spaces are available and can be reserved by calling (931) 473-5134 and asking for Richard Grissom. 60 spaces are available for $50 for each. Each space is 10 ft x 10 ft in size.
