TENTH ANNUAL CITIZENS FOR PROGRESS CONCERT SET

The 10th annual Citizens for Progress Scholarship Fund is set for Saturday evening, April 21st, at the historic downtown McMinnville Park Theatre with a 7 pm start time. The concert headliner is country star Steve Wariner who was a member of the Dottie West band, won four Grammy awards, has had 14 number # 1 songs, and over 50 Billboard singles. Steve is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Citizens for Progress (CFP) was started during 2007 to help fund higher education for the youth of Warren County. Since the beginning over $700,000 has been raised with over $600,000 awarded in scholarship aid. The focus of CFP is now to help support dual enrollment classes at Warren County High School (WCHS) for both TCAT and Motlow College in McMinnville. Participation in dual enrollment has rapidly grown, including going to Motlow and WCHS both full time at the same time.

All proceeds of this CFP Concert will go to the 501C3 – Foundation for Educational Progress in Warren County – who administers the funds for CFP.

A limited number of reserved seats are available for the Steve Wariner concert at $35 each while general admission tickets cost $25 each. Remember that there are now permanent seats in the Park Theatre balcony that this concert will utilize. Please contact the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce at 110 S. Court Square at 473-6611 or by e-mail to Sigourney Younglove at syounglove@warrentn.com to purchase tickets. Tickets can also be purchased at the Park Theatre the evening of April 21st.

Given the popularity and fame of Steve Wariner, a sellout crowd at the Park is expected. Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. This concert will be a “happening!” The CFP Concert is hosted by the Business Roundtable Action Committee and the Chamber of Commerce. The national anthem will be sung by the WCHS Select Choir just prior to 7 pm. Thomas Vaughn will serve as the event Emcee.
