    Warren County Schools receives two Perkins Reserve Consolidated Grants.

     

    McMinnville, TN – Warren County Director of Schools Bobby Cox announced today that the Tennessee Department of Education has awarded Warren County Schools 2 grants totally $86,224.75. The New Skills for Youth (NSFY) grant and the The Industry Certification Grant projects will allow Warren County Schools to grow programs that help our students receive a well-rounded education and be more prepared for post-secondary opportunities.

     

    Director of Schools Bobby Cox replied, “we are very excited that we have been chosen as a recipient of the New Skills for Youth (NSFY) grant to improve our STEM program and we are 1 of 6 schools statewide to be chosen. We are equally excited to receive the Industry Certification Grant to continue to help our students with early post-secondary opportunities.”

     

    The TN Commissioner of Education, Candice McQueen stated, “All Tennessee students deserve to have career preparation that lead to high-quality employment after graduation and continue to prioritize this work at the department,” McQueen said. “Through the Perkins Reserve Consolidated Grant, we are able to provide funding for programs as we work to ensure that more students are prepared to earn postsecondary credentials and are equipped with the skills they will need to be successful in their future careers.”

     

     

    The New Skills for Youth (NSFY) Grant will provide $74,244.75 for Warren County Schools to expand the equipment in our District’s STEM program in the elementary schools.

     

    The Industry Certification Grant will provide $12,000.00 for Warren County Schools to assist students in reducing the cost barriers that exist for students to complete an exam and earn a capstone industry certification credential while still in high school to prepare for high demand jobs following graduation.
