• News Release: 8/20/2018 - Community Coats for Kids Project

    This project will be a joint effort between the Rotary Clubs of McMinnville and the Warren County Schools Family Resource Center. The project goal is to collect new or gently used coats for children in our community and distribute them through the Warren County Schools Family Resource Center located in the related arts building on the campus of Warren County Middle School. 

    The Family Resource Center is operated by Delia Walker and Sharon Hargrove who are retired educators working part time and is a grant funded program through Warren County Schools. 

    Research: In the Kids Count report released by the TN Commission on Children and Youth Warren County ranks 73rd out of 95 counties in overall well-being of children. Statistics obtained through Warren County Schools federal programs department indicates that 72.61% of Warren County Students meet the federal guidelines in our county in the 2017-2018 school year. 

    PROJECT DATES: 
    • Coat Collection will being the end of August 2018
    • Distribution would begin immediately following on an as needed basis when coats are collected and cleaned if needed
    • If collections are too large in number to be distributed through the family resource center the related arts gym at Warren County Middles School can serve as a distribution center on an assigned date or after school hours.
