News Release: 11/21/2018 - Volunteers Needed RSVP

Tennessee Opportunity Programs RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) is needing volunteers for a couple of private schools in the area. The volunteers will help in the afterschool program and will mainly listen to students read to them. Younger students who are not reading yet will need volunteers to read to them. Statistics show that students who read at least 20 minutes every day have substantive positive gains in reading achievement. An increase in vocabulary through reading results in an increase in comprehension across the curriculum.

RSVP has been in Warren County since 1972. We presently serve Warren and Van Buren counties with approximately 180 volunteers aged 55 and older. We are looking to add more volunteers to our non-profit organization who will help fulfill the needs of the community.
