November 25th marks the 8th annual Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday was created by American Express in 2010 to bring attention to the local businesses that help to create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Last year, more than 6,700 small businesses and organizations across the country signed up to be Neighborhood Champions. The estimated number of small business owners reached through the Neighborhood Champion program was 2.1 million.
On November 25th, stop by the Main Street McMinnville Welcome Station located in downtown McMinnville and pick up your Shop Small tote and other Shop Small promotional items.
To celebrate small business shoppers, the McMinnville Warren County Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Main Street McMinnville to create the Small Biz Saturday Passport which will feature Chamber and Main Street McMinnville members. On November 25th, shoppers can pick up blank passports at the Main Street McMinnville Welcome Station downtown. During the day, shoppers must have six of the seven participating businesses sign their passport to be entered in to a drawing. The prize is a basket filled with goodies from all participating businesses - a prize worth over $100.
