    SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES ON NOVEMBER 25 McMinnville, TN Nov 14, 2017 –

    Main Street McMinnville celebrates small businesses with ‘Tis the Season: Small Business Saturday in downtown McMinnville on November 25 from 10 am to 2 pm. Small shops and restaurants make our downtown vibrant and unique while also giving fuel to city’s economic engine. ‘Tis the Season offers shoppers a festive shopping experience with in-store specials, complimentary Small Business Saturday goodies, and holiday music. The 10 participating shops and 5 participating restaurants will offer shoppers discounts, refreshments, or other specials as part of the event. The Trendy Trunk will have refreshments and 20 percent off of boutique clothing. Furry Tales Grooming, Boutique, and Bakery will have a special sale with complimentary treats for dog owners. Ashley’s Attic, the only purveyor of Elf on the Shelf in McMinnville, will have refreshments and a sale. TOPZ and Metro Deli will offer 10 percent off with a November 25th receipt from any shop downtown. McMinnville JiuJitsu Academy is offering over 40 percent off on a three-month membership purchased on November 24 & November 25. Vintage Market will hold an open house with discounts, featured pieces, and beautiful Christmas decorations. For afternoon shoppers, Santa Claus will be at Collins River BBQ and Café from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. These special events and more are listed on our Main Street McMinnville website: mainstreetmcminnville.org/ In addition to celebrating our small shops, this event incorporates local performers to showcase their talents and contribute to a festive atmosphere and delightful shopping experience. Father Ben Randall of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and Jennifer Nafrada of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are organizing carolers who will wander downtown’s garlanded streets and step into shops to share their holiday music. Performers from DeKalb Performing Arts Company’s Steel Magnolias will be in character during the event to greet shoppers and chat about their upcoming play. Beautiful Christmas decorations carefully prepared by the City of McMinnville downtown contribute to the holiday atmosphere. To celebrate small business supporters, Warren County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street have created a Small Biz Saturday Passport which features Chamber and Main Street members. On November 25, shoppers can pick up blank passports at the Main Street McMinnville Welcome Station downtown. During the day, shoppers must have six of the seven participating businesses sign their passport to be entered into a drawing. The prize is a basket filled with goodies from all participating businesses – a prize worth over $100. Participating businesses include The Trendy Trunk, Poppie’s Boutique, AlloK’sions, Ashley’s Attic, Tree City Wine and Spirits, Southern Traditions, and Tiger Lily Boutique. Shoppers can pick up complimentary Small Businesses Saturday canvas totes, stickers, balloons, and even pet bandanas at the Main Street McMinnville Welcome Station which will be located under the Park Theater marquee. Main Street will also offer holiday cookies to fuel shoppers and contribute to the holiday spirit. November 25th marks the eighth annual Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday was created in American Express in 2010 to bring attention to the local businesses that can help create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Last year, more than 6,700 small businesses and organization across the country signed up to be Neighborhood Champions. The estimated number of small business owners reached through the Neighborhood Champion program was 2.1 million. Main Street McMinnville is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the revitalization and development of downtown McMinnville. We believe a vibrant historic downtown core is essential to the economic development, quality of life and civic pride of McMinnville.
