News Release: 12/17/2018 - The Park Theatre Group

The Park Theatre Group (PTG) was organized as a non-profit in 2002 dedicated to the restoration and revitalization of the Park Theater to bring performing arts and family entertainment to the community. We have assisted Paula’s Dance Academy in its presentation of The Nutcracker Fantasy during the Christmas seasons. In the spring we will work with the recently organized Teen Thespian Society to present an original play in the theater.

We have been also privileged to work with Logan Taylor’s Dream/Reality Group (DRG) in the production of four shows. With our financial backing, DRG has been able to expand their shows and give this community a truly exceptional theatrical experience. DRG will present a full season of six shows in 2019. In addition, DRG is starting an internship program to give teens experience in every aspect of theatrical production, on stage as well backstage, lighting/sound, directing, etc. At the end of the year PTG will award $1,000 scholarships to two interns who have excelled and shown potential in the Performing Arts.

Through these productions the Park Theatre Group is not only contributing to an appreciation of the arts, but also contributing to tourism and the economic success of our downtown. We are looking forward to a bright future.
