Warren County Director of Schools Bobby Cox released today the school districts 2018 district accountability results. “I am very proud and excited to announce today that Warren County Schools has achieved the designation as an Advancing School District which is the second highest designation for school districts in Tennessee.” Cox continued “our district has achieved this designation for the second straight year in a very challenging testing environment and I am extremely proud of our team from our board of education to our central office staff to all of our students and school administration and teachers, this was a total team effort.” In addition, the school district improved its designation in the Tennessee Value Added Assessment System (TVAAS) which measures growth of students from a Level 2 to a Level 4 on a five-point scale. “I am extremely proud of the growth we have made over the last two years at the district level and at the school level” Cox stated “at the school level last year we had three schools that were level 5 schools in 2017 and in 2018 we improved that number to five schools at a level 5.”

In addition to the above accomplishments Warren County Schools also announces today that the Tennessee Department of Education has recognized Hickory Creek Elementary and Irving College Elementary as Reward Schools in 2018. Reward school status is the highest status recognized for school in Tennessee. Director Cox stated “in 2017 Dibrell Elementary and Morrison Elementary were recognized as reward schools marking the first time that our district had two schools recognized in the same year. In 2018 we have two different schools recognized in the same year equaling that accomplishment.” Cox continued “again, I am extremely proud of our accomplishments and our continued growth. I again attribute this to our board of education setting the foundation with our district strategic plan, our central office staff supporting schools to carry out our plan, building Principals implementing the plan, and our students, teachers and staff working hard each day to improve student learning. We did not reach all of our goals but we improved and today we are celebrating that improvement.”
